How to use the compensation

Please note: The Claims
Calculator should only be used as a guide. These
are approximate amounts of what is commonly
awarded for injuries. All cases are judged on an
individual basis and the circumstances that lead
to the accident. Additional compensation may be
paid for loss of potential earnings and other
related expenses.

Head Injuries
£6,000 - £20,000
Minor injuries - with no brain
damage up to £6,000. Minor brain damage where a
good recovery has been made but symptoms such as
poor concentration and memory problems continue,
up to £21,000
Neck Injuries
£1,000 - £250,000
Recovery within 2 years from
£1,000 - £3,500. Severe neck injuries, with severe
Fractures, up to £250,000.
Shoulder
Injuries £2,000 - £9,000
Dislocation of shoulder causing
pain in shoulder and neck, aching in elbow,
weakness of arm and hand from £6,000 - £9,000. For
injuries such as frozen shoulder causing limited
movement and discomfort for up to two years £3,750
- £6,000. Minor injury such as soft tissue damage
causing considerable pain but recovery almost
complete within one year from £2,000 -
£3,750.
Back Injuries
£6,000 - £14,000
Disc problems, strains,
sprains, soft tissue injuries up to £6,500. Severe
back injuries including permanent disability up to
£14,000.
Arm Injuries
£3,000 - £28,000
Serious fractures with
significant or permanent disability from £19,500 -
£28,000.
Serious fractures with good
recovery or good expected recovery £9,000 -
£19,500.
Simple fractures of the radius
and or ulna bones with fast and complete recovery,
£3,000. Some permanent disability up to
£9000.
Elbow
Injuries £6,000 - £25,000
Severely disabling injury from
£18,350 - £25,000. Injuries leading to impaired
function but no major surgery or significant
disability from £7,500 - £15,000. Moderate or
minor injury e.g. simple fractures, with no
permanent damage or impairment of function up to
£6,000.
Hand Injuries
£1,000 - £28,000
Amputation of finger from £4000
- £8,000. Severe dislocation of thumb, £2,000 -
£3,000. Fracture of one finger with complete
recovery £1,000 - £1,750. Loss of thumb £18,000 -
£28,000.
Hip Injuries
£6,000 - £13,000
Minor injuries upto £6,500.
Severe injuries needing hip replacements up to
£13,000.
Leg Injuries
£4,500 - £14,000
Simple fracture of tibia or
fibula up to £4,500. Severe leg injuries including
fracture of femur, up to £7,000. Fractures where
recovery is incomplete from £8,500 -
£14,000.
Knee Injuries
£3,000 - £13,000
Torn cartilage, dislocation,
ligamentous damage; injuries resulting in minor
instability or weakness from £7,000 - £13,000.
Lacerations, twisting or bruising injury with
complete recovery, up to £3,000. Ongoing symptoms
eicluding aching, discomfort and occasional pain,
up to £6,500.
Ankle
Injuries £6,500 - £25,000
Severe injury to ankle causing
long period of treatment, long period in plaster
and some permanent disability (e.g limited walking
ability) from £15,000 - £25,000. Fractures and
ligament tears resulting in some moderate
disability £6,500 - £13,500.
Foot Injuries
£3,500 - £7,500
